Irregular start-up process of injection molding machine will cause quality degradation, poor mass production, short machine life, screw damage and many other conditions. Following article will give you a detailed and comprehensive introduction to start-up, teach you to standardize process and avoid boring.
01 One: Operational requirements
1. Open cooling water valve before machine is heated and start production, observe whether water channel is unblocked.
2. Close power switch on the side of control box, turn on internal power supply, and press motor start button on the panel to start oil pump motor.
3. For machine that is used for the first time or has not been used for a long time, after oil pump is started, it must be run for a few minutes before starting to operate.
4. Turn on barrel heating switch, turn on electric heating power, adjust thermostatic nozzle and temperature controller on the door of box, set temperature, observe current of ammeter, and judge quality of heating coil.
5. Test run should be carried out sequentially from manual → semi-automatic → fully automatic, at the same time, check whether important fastening bolts are loose, and stop immediately if abnormalities are found. After confirming that it is normal or troubleshooting, then carry out test run.
6. Barrel should be cleaned when processing is stopped or when material is changed. Cleaning should be carried out while barrel is heated. When cleaning is completed, heating switch should be turned off immediately. Cleaning is particularly important for processing easily decomposable plastics.

①Injection seat must be returned when cleaning
②Temperature setting when two raw materials alternate should be adjusted according to requirements of high melting materials
③Use polystyrene to clean decomposed materials
7. When processing stops, first turn action switch to manual position, place other action switches at off position OO, turn barrel heating switch to OFF, press motor stop button to turn off oil pump motor, and finally turn off power switch to end jobs.

02 Two: Precautions for use
1. When using machine, you must pay attention to safety of operation. First check reliability of safety door. When machine is running, remember not to put your hand into clamping mechanism. When taking product, safety door must be opened, and safety door can only be closed after confirming safety of personnel or mold without foreign objects. During operation, hand cannot reach between nozzle and mold gate. When repairing mold, oil pump motor must be turned off.
2. Due to different types of raw materials, size and shape of product area, required clamping force is different. When adjusting mold, please adjust according to minimum clamping force actually required, which not only saves power consumption, but also significantly extends machine Life.
3. Pressure adjustment of hydraulic system should be carried out separately according to requirements of each action. It should not be too high. Using pressure reasonably can not only save energy, but also extend life of machine. Position of each limit switch should also be adjusted according to requirements of finished product. In particular, attention must be paid to adjustment of switching point from injection to holding pressure process, otherwise product will be insufficiently filled. On the contrary, product will produce excessive internal stress or flash, and even cause mold expansion, making it difficult to open mold.
4. When there is no material in screw or barrel, it is not advisable to use a high screw speed (preferably below 30 rpm). After raw material is filled with screw screw(when melt is extruded from nozzle), screw speed is increased to required value, so as to avoid scratching screw or barrel due to excessively high idle speed or too long time.
5. It takes about thirty minutes for barrel to heat up from room temperature to required temperature. In the case of residual cold material in barrel, keep it warm for another ten minutes. Screw can be started for feeding to ensure that residual cold material is fully melted and to avoid damage to screw.
6. Safety valve of oil pump in machine has been adjusted at factory, please do not change it at will.
7. Machine starts to run. When cooling water temperature rises by 5C°-10C° (when there is no water in cooler, it must be filled with water first), then gradually open water inlet valve of cooler, adjust water inlet during use to maintain oil temperature.

When starting cooler below 55℃, remember to quickly open water inlet valve, because when a large amount of cooling water flows through cooler, a "supercooled layer" with poor thermal conductivity will be formed on the surface of cooler tube, even if a large amount of water enters cooler in the future , it will still not have a good cooling effect.
8. Lubrication of machine is strictly implemented in accordance with operating requirements. Running under condition of lack of oil will severely wear parts, especially connecting rod and steel sleeve of clamping machine. If there is lack of oil, it may be bitten and cannot work. .
9. Connecting screw part of heating and plasticizing part such as barrel and screw, because it works at high temperature, when disassembling, threaded part should be coated with heat-resistant grease (red lead or copper disulfide) to avoid biting and disassembly. .
10. Mold mounting surface of mold plate has high processing accuracy. Please do not use molds with poor mounting surface and parallelism and poor screws to avoid damage to performance of mold plate and clamping mechanism.
11. Please do not leave mold in clamping state for a long time (more than ten minutes) for two planes of mold installation, so as not to cause connecting rod pin and steel sleeve to break oil, and mold may not be opened.
12. Always keep mutual movement and clean surface.

③ Cut off heating power supply, turn off oil pump motor, main power supply and cooling water.
④ Do cleaning and maintenance of machine.
14. Recognize nameplate of each switch during operation, do not misuse it to avoid damage to machine.
15. When electric heating coil is in use, coil will heat and expand, may become loose. Please check it frequently during use, tighten it at any time.
16. Probe of thermocouple should ensure good contact with end of temperature measurement hole of barrel. Check before starting machine. If contact is found to be poor, it should be tightened at any time.
